VCBW x Portland Craft | Rose City Rampage

Portland Craft hosted a signature event for Vancouver Craft Beer Week and celebrated their 5th anniversary by bringing the best beers from Portland Oregon to Vancouver. This is a craft beer lovers dream to try some of the best brews without having to cross the border and drive for several hours.

Tickets are $60 are 16 beer tasters, and food. This was my favourite event that I went to because of the unexpected extras! I originally came just for the beer but the food menu was so excellent, and they also had a souvenir tasting glass for everyone! I think if they had mentioned what food they were serving and that there was a souvenir tasting glass it would have been a quick sell out!

FOOD & BEER

It was such a treat to try this organic fried chicken breast chicken! Their asian influences to spice this sandwich up worked well together. The only trouble was finding space to eat this sandwich, the fries and all the beer but it was totally worth the calories.

Venue

This was a spacious venue with 2 floors. The 1st floor consisted of a long community style table, booths, bar seating and single high tops. The 2nd floor was more like traditional sit down tables for 4 people. The bar is only located on the 1st floor so I decided to grab a high top beside the tap. I didn't think it would have been a good idea to keep going up and down the stairs to get refills although I did notice you could flag a server down to fill up for you!

overall impression of portland craft rose city rampage event:

All in all, this was my favourite event of the 5 I went to. The beer selection was stellar. The food was not only drool worthy in photos but also tasted delicious. The food and beer turn around time from the kitchen & bar was fast. And the restaurant was very clean. Including the washrooms! Would I come back again? Most definitely! This will be my most highly anticipated event next year if they host another one for VCBW. If you're a photographer this is a good one to come take photos at because there is tons of natural light flooding in!
