Rocanini Coffee Roasters x Steveston
Rocanini Coffee Roasters' cafe in Steveston is a 45 seater spacious and bright cafe in the heart of Richmond's Fisherman's village offering handcrafted coffee from beans roasted at their Mount Pleasant roastery since 2010. The white interior is accented with natural woods, industrial vents, high ceilings and windows that invite tons of natural light. The walls are filled with art from local artists which rotate regularly. On the counter they have an Oji cold brew coffee system from Japan which looks like it belongs in a chemistry lab.
Everytime we visit Steveston, this is one place we always drop by to get takeout coffee before walking around the neighbourhood. If we need a break, the cafe is equipped with WiFi and spacious tables. At the front, there is a communal wooden table or opt for a smaller table along the wall for yourself. It's a great place to read, or work during the day.
They also offer tea, hot chocolate, juices, pastries, sandwiches, freshly roasted coffee beans, and coffee equipment. The baked goods are from a local bakery, The Sweet Spot.
Ordering Tips:
Dripped coffee lovers, try their pour over or siphon coffee.
French press coffee lovers, try their Espro Press.
Espresso lovers, try their flat white for a velvety texture or cappuccino for more of a milk foam.
Soy and almond milk is available.

If you're visiting or living in the Steveston area, we definitely recommend coming to check out Rocanini. They have a great space for reading, work, and catching up with friends over handcrafted coffee beverages prepared with beans they roast. They have a range of home coffee brewing equipment and freshly roasted coffee if you'd like to make some at home! It's a great option for speciality coffee without having to drive to Vancouver.
The Good:
- Nice space to hang out, read or work.
- Best coffee offered in Steveston in our opinion.
- Supporting local artists!
- Pursuit of high quality coffee.
The Bad:
- Staff is very quiet which doesn't come across as friendly.
But they are quite hard working! - While the main cafe is clean. Clean your damn washrooms!
Part of the problem is vistors using the washroom without buying anything.
