Eco-Friendly Excitement: The Green Revolution Meets Performance in the 2024 Volvo V60 Polestar Engineered
The 2024 Volvo V60 Polestar and it is a really cool, and fast PHEV wagon. For 2024 it receives more power and range to outperform the prior generation. The battery pack gets an extra row of cells boosting the capacity from 9.1 to 14.9 kilowatt-hours. The electric motor gets a bump from 87 to 143 HP. The revised turbo engine combined with the electric motor has a combined output of 455HP and 523 lb-ft. This is an improvement of 40 and 29.

INTERIOR FOR DRIVER: 8/10
Behind the wheel of the 2024 V60 Polestar, drivers are greeted with a thrilling combination of electric power and dynamic performance. The Polestar-optimized T8 powertrain delivers robust acceleration, with the electric motor seamlessly complementing the gasoline engine. The all-wheel-drive system provides confident handling, making winding roads a joy to navigate. The V60 Polestar successfully marries power with precision, offering a driving experience that is as exhilarating as it is composed.
Step into the V60 Polestar, and Volvo's commitment to luxurious simplicity is immediately apparent. Premium materials, such as leather and metal accents, create an inviting interior. The central infotainment system is not the new version that allows drivers to see multiple cameras angles on the screen. I also noticed a bug where the heated steering and seat pop up won’t display if I’m in camera mode. The Polestar variant introduces gold accented seat belts and brakes. The interior of the V60 Polestar strikes a harmonious balance between comfort, technology, and Scandinavian elegance.
INTERIOR FOR PASSENGERS: 8.5/10
Passenger comfort is a priority in the V60 Polestar, with spacious and supportive seats ensuring a pleasant ride for all occupants. The wagon configuration provides ample cargo space, making it versatile for daily errands or longer journeys. The Polestar treatment extends to the interior, with meticulous attention to detail creating an environment that combines sportiness with Volvo's hallmark safety features.
OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE 2024 Volvo V60 Polestar:
Station wagons are a great alternative to the everyday SUV, because they often provide better fuel economy, practicality, and more pleasant driving dynamics than suvs. I’ve always liked the idea of a boring looking family vehicle that’s actually faster than a lot of sports car and this is that type of vehicle. I like how unthreatening it looks compared to the Audi RS6 and AMG E63/C43 Wagon but it’s a beast under the hood.
On paper Volvo claims it has 65km of electric only range but I was about to get 71km.
Volvo’s commitment to station wagons in a world of SUV shows they have a true passion to making them cool again. CEO of Volvo said that “Volvo is wagons” despite their best sellers are crossovers.
At 77.5K CAD, this is a bargain for a performance wagon when comparing to the E63S (142K) or RS6 (147K). Even a performance SUV like the MDX Type S starts at 86K. If you’re shopping for a performance family vehicle that has a plug I recommend test driving one.
