2022 Mercedes AMG GLB35

For this week’s review we’ve gotten our hands on the 2022 Mercedes AMG GLB35. It is America’s smallest 3-row SUV with AMG punchy performance.

Disclosure: Mercedes Benz Canada provided me with the 2022 Mercedes AMG GLB35 for a week to test drive, and photograph. All photos in this blog post was taken by me. #MercedesAMGGLB35

INTERIOR FOR DRIVER: 8.5/10

  • One of the rare SUVs that is exciting to drive and handle

  • Shifts are quick when driving fast but can feel clunky at low speeds when attempting to parallel park

  • Heated steering wheel is needed as an option

  • Interior styling is really nice and would appeal to the younger folks

  • This generation steering wheel with lots of physical buttons and blackberry style nipple works so much better than what they’re doing for their future products.

  • I like how there is still quite a bit of physical buttons. If you saw my S580 review, we may expect to see a direction towards all touch controls which is a bit tricky to work with while drive driving.

INTERIOR FOR PASSENGERS: 9/10

  • Boxy design means plenty of leg and headroom.

  • It can be ordered with a 3rd row too!

INTERIOR STORAGE:9/10

  • Since it’s built to be able to take a 3rd row seat, the cargo storage is massive if you option it with 2 rows or have 3rd row folded down!

  • Unfortunately no power tailgate for this year model due to chip shortage but it will have it in 2023.]

  • Under the load floor has extra room for a cover, and tire repair kit.

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE 2022 Mercedes AMG glb35:

The 2022 GLB35 is a very fun car to drive that is a strong performer. I love this thing. The way it drives, and looks is just amazing. The boxy look is really cool look and practical for family usage but still small enough to feel like I’m driving a go kart and parking in the city.

One thing I’m bothered by is there is no heated steering wheel option. This is something I would like to see since we live in Canada.

If you need a 3rd row SUV that is small you should consider taking a look. If you’re a budget you can look at the non AMG variant.
